Woman arrested after being arrested for selling sex slave online
— A Missouri woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly selling sex slaves online, police said.
Cecile McLean, 33, of St. Louis was charged with interstate transport of a sex slave and two counts of prostitution, police told CNN affiliate KXII-TV.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said in a statement that officers were dispatched to a business in the area of U.S. Highway 30 and Interstate 40 about 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday to conduct an investigation.
The statement did not identify the business or McLean.
McLean was arrested and booked into the St. Charles County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
She is being held on a felony charge of trafficking a sex and prostitution victim.
McLean’s arrest came a day after authorities said they seized more than $2.3 million worth of human organs from a suspected sex slave trafficking ring, according to police.
The investigation into the sex trafficking rings was led by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.
McLane has been on a yearlong “sex trafficking task force” in Missouri.
